CERTIFICATED ABSENCES

We will not be utilizing the Frontline Education-Substitute Request/Absence Management System this Year.

 

New Google Absence Form- (1 day absences) 

 

If you are a teacher and you are not able to provide live instruction for 1 day, please notify your students and families and assign asynchronous assignments to the students for the day.  You will record your absence by completing your site’s Google Absence Form. If you are a certificated employee, but not a classroom teacher,  you will also record your absence by completing your site’s Google Absence Form. No  Substitute will be required.

 

In addition, please be sure to still fill out the proper TIME OFF REQUEST FORMS when needing to request time off ahead of time or the VERIFICATION OF UNSCHEDULED ABSENCE FORM for those emergencies that come up when you need to call out or when sick days need to be used.

Substitute Request Google Form (2 or more days absences)

 

First, complete this form to report your absence Next, if you are a teacher and you are not able to provide synchronous instruction for 2 consecutive days or longer, you will need to notify your students and families and complete the Substitute teacher request form. Based on this request, Personnel Services will assign a Substitute teacher to your class. We have a pool of Substitutes who are equipped with a District laptop, email, and zoom account. The substitutes have received training on how to deliver instruction via Distance Learning. Tawny Kilcoyne at the District Switchboard will email you the Substitute's zoom link along with their email. You will need to share the Substitute zoom link with your students via Google classroom or other communication platforms. You have the option of uploading your lesson plans on this form or sending lesson plans via email to the substitute prior to the absence if at all possible. If you would like the Substitute to have access to your Google Classroom, you may elect to make your Principal a co-collaborator for the duration of your absence or you may give the Substitute student access.

 

Call the EWCSD switchboard at (562) 907-5900 if the absence begins in less than two (2) hours or in an emergency where it was not possible to put the absence in the Substitute Request Google Form.

CLASSIFIED ABSENCES

If you are a Classified Employee working at MURPHY RANCH and you are not able to report to work, you will record your absence by completing the Google Absence Form.
